My name is Sarah Alvestad, and I'm a backyard beekeeper in Lemont, IL. Stemming from my background in Secondary Education, I enjoy sharing what I'm learning from these fascinating, busy bees. I'll share the daily in and outs of raising them, progress in my bee-friendly organic garden, my efforts to become a growing source of local honey, and the reality of being a small business owner. I'm excited to introduce you to interesting people I know that motivate me to engage in my community, and learn from their vast experiences that better our planet, health, and families. As a mom and an athlete, I also enjoy sharing occasional tales of our beautiful funny kids, my multi-talented Norwegian husband, and our many adventures.
